Aimed squarely at BMW’s Mini, it’s claimed to ‘condense all the virtues of the brand into less than four metres’, which sounds suitably pretentious (if largely accurate). Prices start at £13145, with the 1.4 TFSI tested here costing £16860 in S Line trim.

MINI presents new versions of its model family (MINI, MINI Clubman and MINI Convertible) with design modifications, additional engine variants, an all-new selection of diesel engines and innovative new equipment features. The global market launch on 18 September 2010 will see a brace of all-new diesel engines joining the portfolio alongside the upgraded petrol engines already available for the MINI, MINI Clubman and MINI Convertible. @DasAutoSpalte depnds on if you want a mini or a small car with luxury interior. The A1 is also cheaper. but of course nothing who want ‘the’ small car, aka the mini

I love audi’s, even have an a4. But this car has no chance on a Mini. Mini’s are mini’s, there in their own class and nothing compares. If you want a mini theres no real other alternative…

He is not wrong to say that the Mini is way better a drive and is cooler , where one ca nspot from miles away. The A1 looks anonymous . Nearly missed it and passed it offf as yet another A3 or 4 . It’sa hansdome just too sublime.

keep in mind that they are bringing out a quattro version of this which will be faster and have more horsepower than the cooper s.

@jancer3 In person the new front really works well with the Copper S and you’re right the new black interior is way classier than my 08 Cooper S. Theres also the brand new MINI Connect system which you plug your Iphone into car and it turns it into a giant computer where you can get facebook updates, google local search and all your phone contacts by voice.
